This is our book review page. We are enthusiastic readers in Room 13 and love to share our book preference and suggesting with others. It might be a good idea to check this page on a Monday night before we have our library session - that way you will be prepared for book choosing.
When writing a book review you need to:
Write a title of the book
Include the series (if the book is part of a set)
Include the authors name
Write a short paragraph detailing the plot of the book without giving too much away
State which genre the book would fit into (horror, comedy, adventure etc)
Include a recommendation (who you think might like to read this book, a possible age, reading group)
Lastly include your name as the reviewer

EXAMPLE: Sideways Stories from Wayside School (Louis Sachar) - This is a really funny book which is written in easy to read chapters. Each chapter has a different student as the focus and these children get up to lots of this during a typical school day! I recommend this book to people who don't like reading long chapters and who have a good sense of humour, it is definately a comedic book! - Miss Bryant
The Recruit (Robert Muchamore) - This book is about spies and is a good book for Alex Rider lovers. This is the first of the series CHERUB. This is a book about a boy called James who gets sent to a spy academy when his mum dies and goes on a mission. Similar to the series Henderson boys and a good comedy/adventure spies - Fynn

THIS BOOK IS ABOUT MUTANT 6 TEENAGE BIRD KIDS ON THE RUN FROM SICK MAD SCIENTISTS WHO MADE OTHER MUTANTS TO DESTROY THEM. THIS SERIES IS CALLED THE MAXIMUM RIDE SERIES. THIS IS A FUNNY BOOK WITH FAKE SLANG AND FUNNY COMMENTS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK FOR 8-10 YEAR OLD ACTION LOVERS.

The Five Ancestors By Jeff Stone The book are set in Asia: This is a series of books about 7 brothers and they were adopted by a stranger. The stranger trained the boys in animal style kung fu in Changzen temple in a far away land. It is abook about adventure and most boys and some boys would like it.

I recommend the Young Sherlock Holmes series. They are stories about an adventurous boy detective and they are very exciting. I recommend the Harry Potter series, by J.K Rowling. They are funny and have lots of action scenes. If you have read those I recommend the Just Stupid series by Andy Griffiths.
I recomend the Artemis Fowl Series by Eoin Colfer. It is funny and I garrantie that it will hook you.- Hugh
I reccomend the horrible series there is horrible geography by Anita Ganeri, horrible science by Phil Gates and fiannily horrible histories by terry deary. It explains enough facts to make your head explode but don't worry it cushions your brain with a thick layer of jokes =D so kick back relax and enjoy reading [for once]. This series is a pretty hard book with complicated words such as extinct and ammonites. I personnaly think people like fynn and hugh would like it because its quite a humoreous series but hey who cares anybody can read it as long as they don't mind vomiting from laughing so hard

I reacomend the Rose seires by Holly Webb. They are about a girl who is a orphan who descovers she has powers and goes out to save the children of "Londen. The books in the seires are 1.Rose,2.Rose and the lost princess,3.Rose and the magions mask,4.Rose and the silver gost. Please note that there is a few parts that some people may find a tiny bit spooky. I recomend these books to mostly girls that like Harry Potter.By kathryn And if you don't like those Clarice Bean by Lauren Child is very funny book for girls.They are about a girl who does lots of Silly stuff and they are a really good laugh.She gets into lots of trouble and does silly things. I recommend The borrowers to anybody who likes adventure. The borrowers are about these little people who live under a house and "borrow" things from humans. I recommend Snakehead from the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. Out of the series Stormbreaker is 1st, Point Blanc is 2nd, Skeleton key is 3rd, Scorpia is 4th, Eagle strike is 5th, Ark Angel is 6th, Snakehead is 7th and Crocodile tears is 8th. Alex is paired up with Ash to stop Scorpia blowing up Australia. But things go wrong, and Alex has to decide who he can trust. I recomend the My Sister the Vampier by S.Myer-They are about two teenage girls who relise they are twins-but they were seperated at birth.but even though the look it they are not compleatly identical... I recomend this series to all girls who like a bit of a comaday everday life mystery and a Complete unputer-downable quickish read! the the book in the series is Swiched! A killer story to sink your teeth into-This book will be the start of a craze of gobling up every book you come across! By Kathryn.
